Thrissur ∙ 11 women belonging to the Emperor Emmanuel Church are on remand in the mob lynching at Iringalakuda Muriyad meditation center. Shaji, a native of Muriyad, who left the church, was beaten up by a group. The women were arrested following the beating scenes came out. Alur police have registered a case of attempted murder once morest them.
The mass grave was in Kapparakadav area of Muriyad. Shaji and his family, who left the connection with the Zion meditation center of Muriyad Emperor Emmanuel Church, were stopped when they reached the car. The believing women dragged Shaji out of the car and beat him up. The car window was broken.
The women say that the reason for the attack was that the pictures were morphed and circulated. Shaji’s statement is that regarding fifty people attacked him. Both groups sought treatment at hospitals. There have been differences of opinion between those who left the church and the believers. The Thrissur Rural Police stated that strict action will be taken as it has led to a law and order problem.
