Mexico City ∙ Ovidio Guzmán, the son of underworld leader El Chapo, who is in prison in the US, and a drug smuggler, was arrested in Mexico. Ovidio nicknamed ‘Mouse’ was arrested just before US President Joe Biden’s visit to Mexico.
He is wanted by the US for smuggling drugs into the US. Ovidio is expected to be extradited to the US. Following the arrest, 19 gang members and 10 security personnel, including a colonel, were killed in violence by drug gangs in Kulikan town. More than 250 vehicles were burnt.
