Bielefeld separates from coach Uli Forte
After just four games, Uli Forte’s adventure at Arminia Bielefeld is over. The 48-year-old was released.
Uli Forte is no longer a Bielefeld coach.
Uli Forte is no longer a coach in the 2nd Bundesliga after just 74 days. Arminia Bielefeld immediately released the head coach on Wednesday morning. He was personally informed by Sport Managing Director Samir Arabi.
Arabi: «We need a turnaround and that’s why we have to act according to our opinion. Taking into account all impressions and discussions, we lacked the conviction that we could be successful in the existing constellation.»
Uli Forte took over in Bielefeld in July. In the league he has lost all four games. Only in the cup was there a 7:1 win against Engers (5th league) in the first round. “Of course I’m disappointed because I believed in being successful with Arminia Bielefeld. Even if it was only a few weeks, it was an intense time. I would have believed that I could turn things around together with everyone and find my way after the start of the season. The release hurts, but as a long-time head coach I have to deal with it professionally,” says Forte.
Assistant coaches Michael Henke, Kai Hesse and Sebastian Hille will temporarily take over at Arminia. They want to present a new head coach in the near future. (mum)
