The first free practice session of the 2022 F1 World Championship Round 14 F1 Belgian GP was held at Spa-Francorchamps on Friday, August 26, and Carlos Sainz Jr. (Scuderia Ferrari) marked the top time. Charles Leclerc (Scuderia Ferrari) was 2nd and Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) was 3rd.

For this season, Spa-Francorchamps will undergo renovations, with F1 teams having to deal with five resurfaced corners and four with modified gravel traps. Unpredictable weather, known as ‘spa weather’, also often adds spice to the race.
