We’ve reached NFL Draft month, and have a little over three weeks until the first overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft is announced in Detroit. As we creep closer to the highly anticipated event, we’re putting together early-round NFL Mock Drafts for every NFL team. Today, let’s see where Jim Harbaugh and company look to go with a Los Angeles Chargers Mock Draft.

Round 1, Pick 5: Marvin Harrison Jr. – WR, Ohio State

The Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver room is looking bare after the team traded Keenan Allen to Chicago, and Mike Williams left in free agency. Their only returning contributors at the position are Joshua Palmer and last year’s first-round pick Quentin Johnston. It’s fair to wonder if the Chargers trade out of this spot knowing the WR class is strong, but if not, I think they go with arguably the best overall player on the board in Harrison Jr.

Harbaugh knows all too well how dynamic Marvin can be after watching him post 100+ yard performances in the last two meetings against his Wolverines. This also fills the Chargers’ biggest need on offense which needs a skilled wide-out to help soften the box for their newly run-centric approach.

Round 2, Pick 37: Kris Jenkins – DT, Michigan

Another player very familiar to new Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, Kris Jenkins has slowly risen up draft boards. He’s a high-motor interior defensive lineman skilled at stopping the run and getting to opposing quarterbacks. Areas the Chargers were better than average, but not great at last season.

This is an area of great need for LA since they lost their top three producers from last season’s defensive line. This pick not only fills a need but also gives them a young player to develop alongside Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack for at least one season. Harbaugh’s familiarity with Jenkins will go a long way in this pick coming to fruition.

Round 3, Pick 69: Zak Zinter – OG, Michigan

Continuing down the Harbaugh pipeline of players we have Zak Zinter coming off the board with the Chargers’ 3rd round selection. Zinter was a standout in Ann Arbor, being named to the All-Big Ten first-team in 2022 and 2023. While earning first-team All-American status as well last year.

His broken right tibia and fibula suffered during The Game against the Ohio State Buckeyes in November is worrisome. But his on-field performances before it, are more than enough to warrant optimism that he’ll return to his All-American form post-injury. Zinter is a monster in the running game, the area of most emphasis for Jim Harbaugh-led teams. This, along with his plus grade in pass protection, and already established relationship with the head coach make this a worthwhile selection for the Chargers.
