The 2023 NFL season is practically half-over, which means the order for the 2024 NFL Draft is starting to take shape.

Week 8 saw multiple teams solidify their positions in the top 10 — although the Denver Broncosby virtue of beating the Kansas City Chiefs — may soon vacate their place in the draft order. Teams like the Indianapolis Colts (defeated by New Orleans) and the Las Vegas Raiders (defeated on Monday in Detroit) appear more and more likely to pick in the top 10 in consecutive seasons.

Let’s get to the current draft order, updated through Week 8 action.

The top of the draft can yield a franchise quarterback — or five years of heartbreak for desperate fans

Bryce Young vs CJ Stroud: a cautionary NFL tale

After a 17-point loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night, the Bears maintained their enviable position of possessing two of the top three picks. New England also moved up to fifth in the order after a defeat to AFC East rival Miamiand it will be interesting to see if the Patriots stay there — it was 1994 the last time that franchise made a selection in the top five. Green Baynow sixth in order, has not selected this high since 2006.

But the quarterback situation in Arizona could change everything, for multiple teams. The Cardinals‘ decision to trade Joshua Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings puts the spotlight firmly on Kyler Murray — himself a former #1 overall pick — and his imminent return to action. Murray‘s individual talent may be enough to secure an extra couple of wins for the Cardinals, which could affect the franchise’s draft position and its long-term plans.
