2024 Political Book Prize: Pascal Perrineau Wins for ‘A Taste for Politics’ – Let’s Talk France

Driven by the theme Let’s talk France echoing the European elections, the 2024 Political Book Prize was awarded to Pascal Perrineau for the work A taste for politics: a passionate observer of the Fifth Republic published by Odile Jacob. The political scientist retraces his career and embellishes it with anecdotes about behind the scenes of French political life, from the 1970s to 2020. He succeeds the journalist Franz-Olivier Giesbert, 2023 winner pour Intimate history of the Fifth Republic. Volume 2. The good times.

During the ceremony, which was held on Saturday April 27 at the National Assembly, other prizes were awarded by the jury:

  • Members of Parliament Book Prize : My Fifth of Michele Cotta (Ed. Books)
  • Special jury prize: A corpse on the road to the Elysée, d’Hervé Gattegno (Flammarion)
  • Student prize for political book: Only children change the world of Jean Birnbaum (Threshold)
  • Comic strip student prize: Black pencil – Samuel Paty the story of a teacher of Valérie Igounet et Guy le Besnerais (Studiofact Editions)

Chaired by Jérôme Jaffréthe jury was composed of Jean-François Achilli, Carole Barjon, François-Xavier Lefranc, Marion Mourgue, Luce Perrot, Loris Boichot, Anna Cabana, Arlette Chabot, Anne Rosencher, Hervé Rouach, Cécile Cornudet, Bertrand Delais, Brice Dyer, Françoise Fressoz, Yves Thréard, Valerie Toranian et Bruno Jeudy.
