Although the premises of the building remained intact, the Chief of Operations of the Lévis Fire Department had indicated that the garage part was a total loss.

An investigation by the Service de police de la Ville de Lévis (SPVL) then determined that it was an arson attack.

The presumed responsible for the blaze, a 21-year-old man, was finally arrested in the last hours. He should appear at the Quebec courthouse in the morning on Friday.
