24 winter hours in Zurich the dresser

I arrived in Switzerland as part of a press trip on behalf of Lasha aimed at covering the launch of a new and direct train line between Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva and Interlaken in the heart of the Alps. On the last day of the trip I was supposed to take a train from Interlaken to Zurich in the morning and from there fly home at night. Such a schedule did not suit my personality even before I turned fifty, so I decided to take the train to Zurich the night before to sleep there and wake up in the morning to a restful day. Since I had never been to Zurich, I immediately started looking for recommendations: from Eile de Leo and his Sahar – two friends who know everything about everything – Pinterest, Instagram and the journalists from all over the world with whom I spent time in Interlaken. One of them, for example, was happy that I asked and pulled out a complete tourist guide to Zurich from his bag. When I marveled at the fact that he was taking a real book with him, he replied: I wrote it.

I’m not an expert on Zurich, but I consulted with the experts, and this is what I was able to do in a few hours from their recommendations:

>>>
where to sleep hotel seidenhof
Central and very pleasant, within walking distance of all the other recommendations and with free light check-out until noon.

>>>
Where to hang out?
Augustinergasse – A cute street in the old city, 4 minutes from the hotel and halfway to the next point, which is the only thing you really shouldn’t miss for the first time in Zurich:
Lindenhof – A beautiful observation point over the whole city.
Bahnhofstrasse – The main shopping street, which has a surprising selection of department stores as before – an excellent solution if it is not a particularly beautiful day. Keep in mind that on Sundays everything is closed in Zurich (unless it’s December, then most are still open).

>>>
And what about coffee?
John Baker – An equal and photogenic bakery with delicious coffee and three branches. I was in the one on the main street.
milk bar – A cafe/restaurant in a particularly cute location. It’s worth sitting outside even if it’s freezing (there’s a huge cozy woolen blanket waiting for you on every chair).

>>>
Teva in the middle of the city:
The small botanical garden next to the university.
