On a mountain tour in hallstatt (district of Gmunden), a 24-year-old man from Graz died on Tuesday.
The fit man had evidently overreached himself when climbing the Hirlatz (1,934 m above sea level). As the state police headquarters in Upper Austria announced, shortly before 3:00 p.m. he informed his sister by telephone that he was exhausted, could not go any further and would probably need a helicopter.
The alarmed rescuers could only find him dead.
