A fiery audience dances again at Lake Zurich
Thousands of people accompanied by extravagant floats parade this Saturday to the sound of music. The party is at the rendezvous after two years of cancellation.
The 29th Street Parade has started in Zurich. DJs have been playing on the eight stages located along the parade route since 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon. And the first of 26 Love-Mobiles set off along Lake Zurich an hour later.
The floats and their dancers will take about four hours to cover the two kilometers that separate the Seefeld from the Enge Hafendamm via Bellevue, the Quaibrücke and the Bürkliplatz.
Hours of celebration
This guarantees the many hundreds of thousands of people expected hours of outdoor celebration. Indeed, according to the program, the last Love-Mobile will not start until shortly before 6:00 p.m. and will run until 10:00 p.m.
On the eight stages, local and international DJs will perform until midnight. A dozen evenings are held on the sidelines of this event, from Friday to Sunday, in different places in the city.
After the cancellations in the summers of 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, many party buses arrived from abroad in the morning, not to mention the special trains, from which a constant stream of people eager to party descended .
Mixed audience
As in previous editions, the public of the Street Parade is heterogeneous; to the sound of the roaring beats, young people, families with children and also many gray-haired people move through the crowd.
Some of them dressed up as superheroes, unicorns, butterflies or smurfs. Others wear sequined clothing – or just little clothing. The majority of participants are dressed in the normal way with a predominance of shorts and caps, due to the sun.
The 29th Street Parade is placed under the motto “Think!” (Think!) “Only he who thinks can confirm, discard or readjust his actions and prejudices,” writes the organizing committee.
