The government media office in Gaza stated that “the occupation army targeted 3 journalists during their media coverage in the Nuseirat camp in the center of the Strip.”

He added: “This targeting comes within the framework of discouraging them from performing their journalistic duty and an attempt to suppress the truth. We also call on the International Federation of Journalists and all unions and journalistic bodies in the world to condemn this crime, and to prosecute the occupation in international forums and courts for its crimes against journalists and media professionals.”
The office confirmed that they were targeted while they were wearing a press jacket with “PRESS” clearly written on it, and this targeting led to the amputation of colleague Sami Shehadeh’s leg, and the injury of the other two journalist colleagues in different areas of their bodies.
He stressed that “the occupation’s crime of targeting press crews comes within a series of severe violations that have targeted Palestinian journalists, of whom so far 140 martyrs have been martyred, killed in cold blood by the occupation army since the start of the genocidal war.”
The government media office in Gaza also held the American administration responsible for its involvement in the crime of genocide against the Palestinians and its approval of its continuation, and held the international community responsible for its failure to stop this brutal, terrible war that has been continuing for the seventh month in a row.
He continued: “We also hold the Israeli occupation responsible for continuing to commit massacres against journalists and media professionals, targeting and killing them as part of its brutal war against civilians, children and women in the Gaza Strip.”
He concluded by calling on “all countries of the free world to stop this criminal war on the Gaza Strip immediately and urgently and to prosecute the occupation for its crimes against humanity, and we call on them to stop the war of ethnic cleansing against Palestinian civilians.”
