PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk. estimates that the number of vehicles that will return to Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabotabek) during the Eid backflow in H1 to H+7 will reach 1.87 million vehicles. This number increased 1.4% compared to traffic during the Eid 2023 return period with 1.84 million vehicles.

Jasa Marga Main Director (Dirut) Subakti Syukur said that the prediction of 1.87 million vehicles is the cumulative traffic flow from four main (GT) namely Cikupa GT towards Merak, Ciawi GT towards Puncak, Cikampek Utama GT towards Trans Java and Kalihurip Utama GT towards Bandung .

For traffic distribution back to Jabotabek, the majority came from the east or Trans Java and Bandung with 1.06 million vehicles or 56.9% of the total predicted vehicles. Then, 461 thousand vehicles or 24.7% from the west or Merak direction, and 344 thousand vehicles or 18.4% from the south or Puncak direction.

“Jasa Marga predicts that the peak of reverse flow in 2024 will occur on H+4 of Idul Fitri or Monday, April 15 2024, with the number of vehicles at the four main toll gates reaching 296 thousand vehicles,” said Subakti in an official statement, Thursday (11/4 ).

He explained that with the surge in vehicles, the majority of which are predicted to come from the Trans Java and Bandung Toll Roads, the location that is the focus of attention for road users to anticipate is KM 66 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, which is where vehicles from Bandung and Trans Java towards Jakarta meet.

“In the predicted return flow peak, the increase in traffic volume at this point will reach 247.3% of normal and increase 18.4% to the return peak of Eid 2023,” explained Subakti.

With a shorter return flow time, Jasa Marga together with the authorities are trying to optimally distribute the return flow traffic so that it is not concentrated at one time where the movement of the return flow will start to increase on H+2 to H+4 of Idul Fitri 1445 H or on Saturday, 13 April 2024 to Monday, April 15, 2024.

“We urge the public to travel back to Jabotabek sooner before the time predicted to be the peak of the return flow,” said the Managing Director of Jasa Marga.

For those who have free time, he continued, his party urges them to shift their journey while taking advantage of the 20% toll rate discount for the reverse flow period which will apply from Wednesday 17 April 2024 at 05.00 WIB to Friday, 19 April 2024 at 05.00 WIB for Trans Java Toll Road fares from Semarang to Jakarta. This toll rate discount is only for vehicles from GT Kalikangkung to GT Cikampek Utama.

“As for the amount of the 20% toll rate discount for class I vehicles, previously paying Rp. 421,500 became Rp. 337,200,” said Subakti. (Z-8)
