Islamabad – Tehreek-e-Insaf Party Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has claimed that there were 3 assailants in the assassination attempt on him on 3rd of this month in Wazirabad. Imran said that the opponents had assigned one person to stop the container he was traveling in, one person to kill him and a third person to kill his assassin. Imran, who was shot four times in his right leg, said the next day that two assailants had tried to kill him.
Imran said that the enemies will not be contained and that there may be more attacks, and he came to the party’s massive rally to demand the holding of interim elections to the Parliament with plastered feet. This is the first time since the assassination attempt that Imran directly addressed the party workers. He said that the strike will continue till the elections are announced and the party members will resign from the provincial assemblies immediately. The term of Parliament is due to expire in August next year.
