The Ministry of Health and Population has published new information on the way monkeypox spreads.
The increasing spread of monkeypox in a number of countries has raised widespread concern after it reached Europe and the Middle East, at a time when scientists are focusing their efforts to reveal all information related to the virus, to facilitate the process of confronting it.
In an awareness leaflet, the ministry said that monkeypox is spreading through:
Physical contact with someone who has symptoms
Touching objects contaminated with the virus (bedding, towels, clothes, etc.)
Through saliva and respiratory droplets
The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed that it is closely following the epidemiological situation in the world of the monkeypox virus and other epidemic diseases, and that there are no cases of infection or suspected of being infected with monkeypox virus in Egypt so far.
