London: 25-year-old Karanjeet Kaur Bains, a native of the UK, has entered the Guinness World Record for the most weightlifting in one minute. Karanjeet completed 42 squat lifts in one minute. Kaur is the first British-Sikh woman to represent Britain in the field.
“I am extremely proud to have won a Guinness World Record title. It feels incredible to be the first British Sikh woman to represent Britain in powerlifting and to make history as a world record holder. I am very proud of this achievement. Anything is possible for the next generation if you put your mind to it,” Kaur said.
Kaur started competing in powerlifting at the age of 17 and has won more than one championship. Karanjeet’s father Kuldeep is also a powerlifter.
