424 released from various prisons in Oman The release was made possible by the Oman Lawyers Association’s ‘Fak Kuruba’ project. 160 people have been released from prison in Muscat governorate.
Earlier, 447 people were released under the scheme. This brings the total number of released people to 817. Fak Kuruba is a scheme to help release prisoners who have failed to pay fines for minor offenses.
Prisoners are being released by raising money from the public. The project, which began in 2012, has so far released thousands of people from prisons.
