Kwon Chang-hoon, who is serving in the military at Gimcheon Sangmu, sent cheers for Suwon Samsung, his team and competitor.

Director Kim Cheon drew 1-1 with FC Seoul in the 36th round of ‘Hana One Q K League 1 2022’ held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium at 7:30 pm on the 12th. Kimcheon, who gained one point, gained 37 points and maintained 11th place in the league.

In the first half, Kim Chun conceded a run to Kim Shin-jin and was taken away. After allowing the lead, he aimed for a counterattack using his flank resources against Seoul, which was gaining possession, and there were several good opportunities in the process, but it did not lead to a goal.

The second half was different. Unlike the first half, which gave up the lead, Kim Cheon started to lead the game with Lee Young-jae, Ko Seung-beom, and Kwon Chang-hoon. In the end, he even scored an equalizer. In the 16th minute of the second half, Seung-beom Ko received a pass and Young-jae Lee caught it with his left foot from the outside of the box, and the ball was deflected by the defense and went into the goal. After that, Lee Young-jae’s shot hit the goal post, but there were no goals, and the match ended 1-1.

After the match, I met Kwon Chang-hoon in the mix zone. Kwon Chang-hoon said, “I think I did well today. While preparing for today’s match, there were parts where the players talked about what to do with each other, and a lot of those things were done on the pitch. I think we did a good job showing what we are trying to do. Of course, there are some regrets as a result, but there is nothing we can do about these points. We will prepare well for the remaining two matches.”

“For now, we are focusing on one game, one game. This is because the game right now is more important than thinking about the game that will come later. Considering those points, we prepared well for today’s match, and the players prepared really well, but I think it’s a pity that we didn’t win.”

Kwon Chang-hoon, who played as a right winger in the 4-3-3 formation that day, did not score an attack point, but played in conjunction with the midfielders and helped Chun Kim’s attack work. He also made some good passes. However, the fact that he did not raise the attacking points may still be a burden for Kwon Chang-hoon.

Fortunately, Kwon Chang-hoon was not mentally troubled. Kwon Chang-hoon said, “It is difficult to say that it is mentally difficult. First of all, I am always looking forward to scoring, and although I am not a good scorer, I am greedy. Of course, I don’t score goals just because I’m greedy, but I think it would be good if I could help the team win by scoring goals,” he said.

Even if he didn’t score, Chang-Hoon Kwon was ready to sacrifice for his teammates. Kwon Chang-hoon said, “I think my role is to help my colleagues do better than to be greedy. There are many things to be prepared in various areas, and there seems to be a lot of things to be done. Rather than doing it alone, we all work together to help each other and are doing well.”

Gimcheon’s competition for relegation is not over. Coincidentally, Kwon Chang-hoon is in a crisis where he has to compete for relegation with his former team, Suwon. Currently, Gimcheon is 11th in the league with 37 points and Suwon is 10th in the league with 38 points. On the same day, Suwon lost to Daegu FC and the difference in points was maintained. As if it was a joke of fate, Gimcheon’s last match was against Suwon. I asked Kwon Chang-hoon what he thought about this part.

We could see Kwon Chang-hoon’s professional attitude. It was Kwon Chang-hoon’s idea that he should do his best in his current team. In the meantime, on the other hand, it was Kwon Chang-hoon who was worried about Suwon.

Kwon Chang-hoon said, “Even if we face Suwon, we have to do the same. We said that we would do the same in the last matchup. Of course, it’s my family, but I have a role to play right now. I am a soldier, and I have to do my best according to my current situation. This is my role, and it is my duty as a player.” He vowed to do his best in the relegation competition against Suwon.

Then, Kwon Chang-hoon said, “I’m not heavy on my mind (about the relegation competition with Suwon). Since Suwon is such a strong team, I think they will be able to survive. It’s good to worry about where we are, but for now, why don’t we, Kimcheon, have to live?” he concluded the interview.
