[아이뉴스24 김문기 기자] The public-private cooperative group begins its activities in earnest to determine the policy direction for 5G 28GHz.
The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Jong-Ho Lee) announced on the 28th that it had held a kick-off meeting for the ’28GHz band 5G public/private working group’.
The working group was formed on the occasion of the proposal of the three telecommunication companies to form a meeting body where the public and private sector could discuss ways to activate 5G in the 28GHz band together at a meeting between the Minister of Science and ICT and the CEOs of the three telecommunication companies held on the 11th.
At the kick-off meeting on this day, the Ministry of Science and ICT, three telecommunication companies, terminal and equipment manufacturers (Samsung Electronics), Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Korea Information and Communication Technology Association (TTA), and Korea Broadcasting and Communications Agency (KCA) participated. The working group composition and operation plan, 28GHz band 5G domestic and overseas promotion status, etc. were discussed.
The Ministry of Science and ICT plans to prepare a direction for 5G in the 28GHz band through multi-faceted discussions through a working group and collecting opinions of private experts.
