6 Ancient Cat Breeds That Still Exist

6. Turkish Angora

As its name suggests, this breed originates from Turkey, and more precisely from mountainous regions. Its coat, soft and mid-length, is an adaptation of the difficult climates that can be encountered in this area. Often white-haired, this breed has been documented in France since the 1600s! Some assumptions have been made regarding the domestication of this cat. This feline may be a descendant of chat manula small cat domesticated by the Tartars.
