Access codes
With iOS 16, passcodes aim to replace your passcode with a flashcode automatically generated each time you want to connect to a compatible website. According to Apple, this method is more secure than the classic two-factor authentication that you are probably familiar with. The generated key is also not stored online, which reduces the risk of leakage or hacking.
All access codes are synchronized with the Trousseau iCloud and accessible from any device running iOS 16 or macOS Ventura. This novelty also wants to protect against phishing and can do without barcodes in favor of Face ID or Touch ID.

The connected home with iOS 16
- Cards : with iOS 16, Apple offers you to share digitized keys in Maps (formerly Apple Wallet) with your loved ones. They can be shared via your favorite messaging apps, while from Maps you can manage permissions and recipients securely. - Maison : a new category Security of the Home app brings together all your connected objects such as locks, alarms and other video surveillance cameras connected via HomeKit.

In Settings > Privacy & Securitya new section called Security controle allows you to visualize at a glance who has access to your data secured. You then have the option of restricting this or that access immediately, depending on the people and apps concerned, if necessary. Practical if, for example, you want to distance yourself from a family member who is a little too intrusive or in the event of domestic violence.

With Security controle, you can thus cut off access to most of your shared services including iCloud and make your messaging inaccessible elsewhere than on your current device. Thus, in the event that a violent boyfriend has stolen his Mac, the victim can always secure everything from his iPhone under iOS 16 and call for help without drawing attention of his stalker.
Isolation Mode
This new mode, available in Settings > Privacy & Security is used to block external access to your most critical iPhone in the event of suspicion of surveillance by spyware.
