9.1% annual inflation in America .. the highest in 40 years

Inflation in America rose to 9.1% in June from a year ago, topping the Dow Jones estimate of 8.8%, and recording the fastest pace since December 1981.

Excluding the volatile food and energy prices, core inflation rose by 5.9% compared to estimates of 5.5%.

With gasoline and food prices continuing to rise, the US Federal Reserve is expected to continue its plan to raise interest rates by 75 basis points later this month.

Gasoline prices in the United States hit record levels in June, when they exceeded $ 5 per gallon, but have fallen from last month’s peak, which recorded $ 4,631 a gallon on Wednesday, which might ease some pressure on consumers.

On the other hand, US consumer prices rose in June as gasoline and food costs remained high, leading to the largest annual increase in inflation in 40-and-a-half years.

The Labor Department said Wednesday that its consumer price index rose 1.3 percent last month following rising 1.0 percent in May.
