90% of Brussels Airlines pilots are in favor of a strike

In common front, the unions of the pilots of Brussels Airlines filed Friday an indefinite strike notice within the framework of the social conflict which opposes them to the management of the airline, we learned Friday from the CNE. A survey among the pilots has been carried out in recent days. It shows that 90% of respondents are in favor of strike action, explains Didier Lebbe, permanent secretary of the Christian union.

The pilots and staff of Brussels Airlines had already gone on strike in December, to protest against heavy work pressure. It was then a 24-hour strike. According to the three unions, nothing has been done to solve the problems raised at this time and the situation has not really improved.

As for the cabin crew, the same survey was launched with the stewards and hostesses after the failure of the conciliation meeting last Tuesday. Depending on the answers, expected for Wednesday, a strike notice could also be filed. In any case, it cannot legally be so before, after the finding of deficiency at the conciliation meeting on Tuesday, we explain to the CNE.

It is not yet known when the strike will take place, if it is decided to organize one. It could take place at the end of June or the beginning of July and last three days.
