Russian forces attack Ukrainian capital, call for surrender
U.S. sanctions export controls such as semiconductors… Biden: Russia intervenes in NATO invasion

The Russian Ministry of Defense said on the same day that it had sent in airborne troops to take control of the hostomel airfield outside Kiev. The U.S. Department of Commerce said, “Semiconductors, computers, telecommunications and information security equipment are subject to export controls.” However, the withdrawal of the SWIFT payment network by Russian financial institutions, which is considered the key to financial sanctions, was dropped as some countries in the European Union (EU), including Germany, opposed it. “We will retaliate against Western sanctions,” Lavrov said.
US President Joe Biden has warned that Russia could launch an attack on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) beyond Ukraine. He ordered an increase of 7,000 U.S. troops to Europe, emphasizing that if Putin invades NATO countries, the U.S. will intervene.
