Seoul: Indian players P.V. Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth in the quarterfinals. World No. 7 Sindhu defeated Aya Ohori of Japan 21-15 21-10 and Srikanth defeated Misha Silberman of Israel 21-18 21-6. Third seed Sindhu will face Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrangfan in the last eight. Last month, Sindhu defeated Busan in the final of the Swiss Open. Srikanth will be up against former world number one Sun Wan Ho of Korea.
In the doubles, Satviksai Raj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Singapore’s Hee Yong Kai Terry and Loh Keen Heen 21-15 21-19. In other matches, Lakshya Sen and Malavika Bansod, who were Indian hopefuls, conceded defeat in front of weaker opponents.
