Linz/Vienna – Far and wide there is currently no candidate who could contest the office of the incumbent Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen. In the representative market survey conducted this week on behalf of STANDARD, 46 percent of the population eligible to vote say that his renewed candidacy would be “definitely right”, a further 26 percent think running again is “rather right”. These values are slightly better than in December 2021 (when they were 40 plus 23) and above all they show that the number of strict opponents of Van der Bellen has decreased.
