Garorock Festival: complaints filed after 21 bites

As at other festivals, Garorock also has to deal with the phenomenon of wild bites. Here, 21 cases have already been identified and seven complaints filed on the second day of this festival, which was held on Saturday July 2.

As the Garorock festival takes place from June 30 to July 3, 2022 in Marmande in Lot-et-Garonne, he too is affected by the problem of wild bites. In total, 21 people were affected and seven filed a complaint, according to information confirmed on Saturday July 2 by the prefecture of the department.

These wild bites which have been in full swing for several weeks already in France, this time took place mainly on the concert part according to our colleagues from La Dépêche.

Quickly taken care of, the victims were affected while nearly 40,000 festival-goers were present. “These cases have been medically certified by the medical profession,” said Arnaud Bourda, sub-prefect of Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

If no case had been identified during the first evening of Garorock, the rescuers had nevertheless expressed certain “suspicions”. In order to confirm or not these, toxicological analyzes were carried out.

The sub-prefect also added that “The malicious nature of these bites will be verified as part of a judicial investigation”.

Already seven complaints filed

Saturday July 2, seven complaints had already been filed. Three other festival-goers who were victims of these savage bites also indicated that they wanted to file a complaint once they returned home.

However, around ten people specified that they did not wish to lodge a complaint.
