In the European zone, while approximately 2,500 “confirmed” patients were identified in a week in mid-July, this number has now fallen below 2,000. “There is an overall drop in daily cases, which suggests that the spread of the epidemic may be decreasing,” notes the British health agency in its latest report, published on Friday 19 August.
