The rate of return on home savings plans will double in 2022. An unprecedented revaluation for 22 years.
This Thursday, December 8, the Ministry of the Economy announced in a statement an increase in the rate of return on home savings plans (PEL). Those open from January 1, 2023 will benefit from a rate of 2%, against 1% currently. This is the first rise in the PEL rate for 22 years, the last dating back to the year 2000.
Please note that this 2% rate will apply to PELs newly opened in 2023 and will therefore not concern the stock of existing PELs.
The housing savings plan is used to build up savings with a view to financing housing intended for main residence. After this savings phase, the PEL makes it possible to obtain a housing savings loan, which can be used in particular to finance energy-saving work.
“This is a new support for the savings of the French after the increase in the rates of the Livret A and the sustainable and solidarity development booklet, to 2%, and the popular savings booklet, to 4.6%”, affirms Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, in the press release.
