Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – English now rocked by a horrendous scandal. This is related to the autobiography of one of the royal members, Prince Harry.
He is reported to be releasing a book titled “Spare”. Even though it was supposed to be published next week, the Spanish version of the memoir mistakenly went on sale Thursday (5/1/2023) in the country.
Reportedly the books have been withdrawn. But a copy was obtained by the media, which then scrutinized its contents.
The Guardian then release it. This also shocked England.
Harry said a number of things, starting with himself still believing in the monarchy, though he didn’t know if it would play a role in the future. He lambasted the media, but on the other hand, exposed the feuds between members of his own family.
Among them, about how Harry fights with his older brother, Prince William. He was allegedly physically assaulted in 2019 because of his wife, Meghan Markle.
“Other revelations included how he was informed of the death of his mother Princess Diana in a car crash in 1997 and how he received messages from her outside the grave via a woman,” the post read. AFPFriday (6/1/2023).
“Harry also referred to his strained relationship with his father, King Charles III, and how he and William begged him (Charles) not to marry his long-term girlfriend, Camilla Parker Bowles,” the media wrote again.
Equally shocking were revelations about his use of the drug, cocaine, as a teenager. There is also Harry’s sex life, when he loses his virginity in an ’embarrassing’ way to an old woman in the field behind a pub.
He also shared his moments as a soldier hunting for Taliban extremists. He confessed to killing 25 people while serving as an Apache attack helicopter pilot in Afghanistan.
“It’s not a number that makes me happy, but it doesn’t make me ashamed either,” wrote Harry likening the target to knocking ‘chess pieces’ off the board, as published on the same page.
According to AFP, this revelation could raise concerns about Harry’s own safety. He himself had expressed concerns about withdrawing the security personnel attached to him after moving to the United States (US) with Meghan in 2020.
It also raises the question of whether the damage to Harry and William’s relationship will further spread. Or maybe, the problem with the royal family can be fixed.
Details of the fight with William
In detail, Harry wrote that his altercation with William occurred after his brother called Meghan “difficult” and “rough”. The incident is believed to have led William to knock his younger brother to the ground as they argued.
“He grabbed me by the collar, tore my necklace off and he knocked me to the floor,” The Guardian wrote, including Harry’s writings.
“I landed in the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces (of the bowl) about me,” he added.
Afterwards, Harry then told William to leave. William was said to have appeared “repentant” and apologetic.
“You don’t have to tell Meg about this,” Harry wrote again describing his sister’s mood at the time.
“You mean you attacked me?” Harry said loading the same page. “I didn’t attack you Harold” William replied using Harry’s nickname.
Before this book was published, Harry was said to be doing promos in a number of countries. There has been no comment from the British monarchy or Harry himself regarding the leak of the contents of the book.
