Al-Marsad Newspaper: Researcher in carcinogens, Fahd Al-Khudairi, commented on the information circulating that black mold in onion skins is carcinogenic.
Al-Khudairi revealed the validity of this information, by saying on his Twitter account: He says black mold in onion skins is carcinogenic, and this information is false and inaccurate.
Al-Khudairi explained that the black mold is from the fungus Asperigloss niger (they call it the head of the nigger), and it is a mold and fungus that has other health damages, but it is not carcinogenic.
He pointed out the need to wash any vegetables that hit them or remove the black surface.
