A police officer was seriously injured following being hit on the head with a cobblestone the night of Monday to Tuesday, report our colleagues from La Capitale and Nieuwsblad.
The intervention followed a fight which was, according to La Capitale, a punitive expedition in a squat on rue de Liverpool following a theft. The perpetrators then fled on the side of Place Lemmens in Anderlecht, where a stoning took place. This is where the policeman was hit in the head with a cobblestone.
He was transported to the hospital and was able to come out, but in professional incapacity. The Nieuwsblad also reports a dozen injuries among the protagonists of the dispute.
