1993: The last Russian troops leave Poland.
1998: The Basque separatist organization ETA (“Euskadi Ta Askatasuna”) declares an “indefinite and total ceasefire”. The ceasefire ends in November 1999.
2003: The US government makes it clear that there is no evidence that deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein was involved in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
