China’s CPI stabilized in September

BEIJING, October 13, 2023 (Xinhua) – Results of official data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics on Friday showed that China’s consumer price index, a key measure of inflation, remained stable and unchanged during last September compared to the same period of the previous year.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index rose 0.2 percent from August, according to the authority.

The core CPI, which deducts food and energy prices, rose 0.8 percent in September year-on-year, with the same pace of increase compared to August.

The average CPI between January and September rose by 0.4 percent year-on-year.
