As announced last week, the European Union is planning a gradual ban on the sale of microplastics in various areas. The law, which in some cases comes into force on October 15th, also affects products that are used daily by many people and professional groups. The ban affects loud EU Commission Products “to which microplastics have been intentionally added and which release them during use.” Solid microplastics are defined as all synthetic polymer particles that are organic, insoluble, difficult to degrade and smaller than five millimeters. The aim of the ban is to reduce emissions of intentionally used microplastics from as many products as possible.
