Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez took third place in the shootout format ahead of the Mercedes duo George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. The sprint takes place from 7.30 p.m. (live ServusTV, Sky).
Yuki Tsunoda put his AlphaTauri in sixth place, teammate Daniel Ricciardo was eighth. Ferrari didn’t get beyond starting positions seven for Charles Leclerc and ninth for Carlos Sainz. Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon was practically shot off the track in the Alpine car and fell by the wayside in the second segment.
