Atlanta, USA (CNN) – A senior Israeli official described the four-hour truce periods as “tactical pauses” that will take effect in specific areas, and indicated that the neighborhood or area will be notified several hours in advance that there will be a temporary pause, to give people in North being able to go south for help and relief.
The official said that Israeli raids will continue on southern Gaza, and southern neighborhoods may also receive notices of a temporary halt so that residents can go out and receive relief as well.
The official said that seeing people leaving northern Gaza in the past few days for the south is an indication that Hamas is losing its grip.
When asked regarding the start date of these truces, the Israeli official said: “Very soon.”
