This feature makes it possible to send text messages from iPhone even when there is no cellular signal or Wi-Fi available in an area.

Now this feature has once once more helped to save a life but this time it has saved the whole family.

A family of 4 adults and 2 children who were hiking in Mount Hood in the US state of Oregon got into trouble due to bad weather.

While hiking at a height of 3500 feet suddenly the weather turned bad and the temperature dropped.

There were no cellular or Wi-Fi signals and to save themselves, they sent an emergency SOS message via satellite at 7:30 pm.

Note that through this feature, people can also share their possible location and situation details with the aid workers.

After this message, the relief team was contacted but due to bad weather it was not easy to reach the affected family.

But the rescue team continued their efforts and at 6 am they found the victim’s family.

But getting them all down the hill proved to be a big problem. An attempt was made to take them down by helicopter, but it failed due to bad weather.

After that, an attempt was made to land them, but due to difficult routes, the return journey was completed at 7.30 pm i.e. 24 hours following sending the SOS message.

It should be noted that this feature has helped save many lives in the United States and Canada so far.
