Trump says he doesn’t trust investigations into second assassination attempt

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief

“The Justice Department, led by Kamala Harris, Joe Biden and the FBI, are wrongly investigating and downplaying the second attempt on my life,” Trump said. “The charges against a murderous maniac are a minor rebuke.”

He asserted that “law enforcement officers are more focused on the criminal cases against him, and this ‘obsession with false accusations’ can be interpreted as a conflict of interest that hinders a proper investigation into the assassination attempt on me.”

Trump added that it was “very difficult” to trust such an investigation.

US Senator Ron Johnson had previously stated that the US Secret Service and the US Department of the Interior were not assisting the US Senate committee in its investigation into the first assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

On September 15, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced a new investigation into the shooting incident that took place at the Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump was staying. The incident was considered a possible assassination attempt.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said an AK-47 assault rifle with a telescopic sight and a motion camera were found in the woods near the golf club where the attacker was trying to hide. The suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested.
