A crane collapsed at a construction site, at least 7 dead – 2024-03-30 12:22:07

At least seven people were killed in Thailand when a crane collapsed at an industrial construction site, local authorities said.

The accident occurred at 4 a.m. (local time) during the construction of a factory that will produce metal chimneys in Rayong province of Thailand, local police chief Chaipong Sangpongchai said.

Such accidents are common in Thailand where businesses often do not follow safety rules or undertake projects without the required permit. In January, an explosion at a fireworks factory in Supan Buri killed 23 people, while in July 2023, an explosion at a factory in the southern city of Narathiwat killed ten people and injured another 100.
