In the afternoon-night hours of this Saturday, once again a dangerous intersection of Route 40 was the scene of an accident that fortunately did not end in tragedy. The vehicles involved were a Chevrolet Corsa and a Volkswagen Suran.
It was around 8:10 p.m. when the accident occurred on Ruta 40 and Calle 10. The first versions indicated that the Suran was traveling along Ruta in a South-North direction, while the Corsa was on Calle 10 from East to West. The Corsa tried to cross the Route and the Suran could not avoid it, it rammed it and dragged it for about 50 meters.
The Suran leaves the Route towards the East sector and was left on the shoulder. Two people were traveling in the Corsa, an elderly woman was accompanying her, while the driver was the one who suffered the worst part because he was trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters intervened to be able to remove the man who was later transferred to the Emergency Department of Rawson Hospital. While the occupants of the Suran only suffered blows, the airbags were activated due to the strong impact.
Volunteer Firefighters worked at the scene with two crews.
