A demonstration denounces the migration policy in Brussels

About 250 people marched this Sunday from the undocumented camp near the Porte de Ninove, in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, to the Foreigners Office. Cardboard tents have symbolically been set up there.

The demonstrators wanted to denounce the “Two weights, two measures” from “Secretary of State Mahdi’s unjust migration policy“. “As he announces that Belgium is opening its doors to Ukrainians fleeing the war, which we also support, he also indicates the construction of three new closed centers for those they consider ‘bad migrants’“, denounce the demonstrators.

Some of them had been living for months in a former KBC building in Brussels, which they had to leave by March 31. One “regularization camp“was installed at the Porte de Ninove, as a form of protest, and tolerated for a few days by the mayor of Molenbeek, Catherine Moureaux.”The fight don’t stop, we’ll never give up“, added the protesters, some of whom have lived in Belgium for more than 20 years.”We accuse Sammy Mahdi of political cowardice. (…) He prefers a sickening political calculation to the health and dignity of 100,000 undocumented people in Belgium“.
