A woman died and another remains hospitalized for the attack this Thursday of a dog in an animal shelter from Broward County, in southeastern Florida (USA), local media reported.
The event occurred this morning at a shelter for abandoned dogs in the town of Oakland Park, when, for reasons still unknown, “a large mixed breed dog” lunged at an employee and another woman tried to help her, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said. Both women, whose identity was not disclosed, were rushed to an area hospital, but one of them died from injuries sustained in the animal attack, NBC channel 6 South Florida reported.
the dog was euthanized hours later by animal care employees of the aforementioned county, while agents of the Broward homicide unit continue to investigate the events that occurred in the center belonging to the non-profit organization 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades Florida.
