A fourth resident of the Pleine-Fougères nursing home (Ille-et-Vilaine) died, probably as a result of food poisoning which occurred at the end of October, the Saint prosecutor told Agence France-Presse (AFP). -Malo, Fabrice Tremel, Sunday November 12 in the evening.
Friday evening, the magistrate announced the opening of an investigation into involuntary manslaughter and involuntary injuries after the death of three residents in this establishment near Mont-Saint-Michel.
In a press release, he mentioned a probable ” food poisoning “ having affected forty residents and one staff member on the night of October 30 to 31.
According to the daily West Francethe management of the Les Marais residence confirmed that “food origin” of the pathology was “now proven”.
Contacted by AFP, the establishment has, for the moment, not responded. Asked the cause of death, the prosecutor did not respond.
The investigation was entrusted to the Saint-Malo research brigade, the Central Office for the fight against attacks on the environment and public health and the National Veterinary and Phytosanitary Investigation Brigade.
