A free demo of Mario Strikers: Battle League available on the eShop

Test 10 characters, learn the controls, and finally play online with this demo of Mario’s latest soccer game.

Mario Strikers: Battle League, the first game in 15 years in the Mario soccer series, is now free to try with a demo available on the Nintendo Switch eShop. This new demo will allow players to test the online mode, available in 6 one-hour time slots between June 3 and 5. However, the demo is available today and can be downloaded until June 5.

The mode currently available is a game mode made to practice alone and get used to the way of playing soccer in the mario universe. Players can therefore practice as much as they want before testing their skills online against other players.

Online matches will see two-on-two teams go head-to-head, with a matchmaking system as well as the ability to play against friends by invitation. Nintendo mentions that players who try out the demo will be able to play with all 10 characters that will be available at launch. Players will be able to get used to it and build a team that they like from the start.

Dates and times of time slots to play the online demo.

  • June 3, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • June 4, 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • June 4, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • June 4, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • June 5, 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • June 5, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to access the multiplayer portion of the First Kick Demo Event. Nintendo also offers a 7-day subscription trial and mentions that it is available even to those who have already used this trial.

Mario Strikers: Battle League is coming to Nintendo Switch on June 10. This is the sequel to Mario Strikers Charged released in 2007, 15 years ago, on the Wii and Super Mario Strikers released on Gamecube. All three games are creations of Next Level Games, a partner Nintendo acquired in 2021.
