A fresco of Emmanuel Macron as Adolf Hitler creates an outcry in France (PHOTO)

The fracture between Emmanuel Macron and part of the French seems total. After having supported the pension reform, the Head of State saw dark times during his second five-year term. To the point that some artists compare the President of the Republic to… Adolf Hitler.

Indeed, a fresco heavy with insinuations was made by the street artist Letko in Avignon. In his “work”, we see Emmanuel Macron with the characteristic mustache of the Nazi leader. There is also the inscription “49.3” on the mustache which evokes the pension reform. Moreover, he also claims that it is a satirical work: “If ever… satirical painting”.

This is not the first time that Letko has attacked the president. Several months ago, he also produced a huge fresco with Jacques Attali who directed Macron like a Pinocchio puppet. The writer and economist, reputed to be close to the head of state, had chosen to file a complaint. Letko will also be judged in September for this enormous fresco. He is accused of “provocation to discrimination, violence, hatred by an anti-Semitic remark”.

For the moment, no complaint has been filed against the artist. However, the city announced that “the fresco was going to be erased as soon as possible at the request of the President and the Prefect of Vaucluse, the services of Grand Avignon were mobilized to have the fresco removed as soon as possible”relays France Bleu.
