His request was not only for his personal safety but also for that of his family, the public and the officers assigned to him,” the insider told the British newspaper. «The prince wants to spend more time in the United Kingdom with his family. But he can’t do that while a question mark hangs over the security details,” he continued.

Again according to the Express and for the same security reasons, it remains unlikely that Harry and Meghan will let their children Archie and Lilibet leave for the United Kingdom. This is despite sources claiming that King Charles “desperately” wants the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to take their children to visit their extended family. Last February, the Duke of Sussex lost an appeal in the High Court against the government for choosing to reduce the level of his personal security during his visit to the United Kingdom. Prince Harry had taken legal action against the Home Office following the February 2020 decision by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royals and Public Figures to grant him a lower level of publicly funded security.
