The trade unions announce mobilization records in Nantes, Angers, Rodez, Besançon but also in Paris, Tuesday March 7. Important demonstrations everywhere in France.

The Parisian boulevards were once again black with people, Tuesday, March 7. For this sixth day of mobilization against the pension reform, hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets to demonstrate. “It’s shielded, it’s difficult to access, there are two courses once again so yes it’s historic”, rejoices a demonstrator. The CGT announces a figure of 700,000 demonstrators, they were 81,000 according to the prefecture.

A nationwide protest

Protesters are ready to harden the movement and encourage blockades. “I think it’s an extra step. It’s a necessity now”, says a school teacher, present since the beginning of the dispute. The unions, who united once again, are demanding a larger demonstration than on previous occasions. “We are experiencing a massive, historic movement that we have not seen for 30 years”, launches Philippe Martinez, secretary general of the CGT, present in the Parisian procession. The rest of the country has also experienced a strong mobilization, as in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) or even in the heart of the island of Groix (Morbihan) where one inhabitant in five has parade.
