The audio division of Philips has just presented the H8507, a wireless hybrid headset that can be used both for video in the office and for listening to music on the go thanks to a detachable microphone. Original and practical!
On the occasion of l’IFA 2022, the consumer electronics show that takes place from September 2 to 6 in Berlin, TP Vision, the parent company of Philips, has unveiled several interesting new products, including a very original headset, the H8507. The particularity of this wireless model? Its “hybrid” vocation. Bulkier than small headphones Bluetooth which have multiplied in recent years, the H8507 is indeed a traditional audio headset (with shells housing two 40 mm speakers), which can be used both indoors, in the office or at home, to talk during videoconferences, and outdoors, to listen to music on the go or in transport. The trick is that it has a removable microphone, which can be unplugged and unplugged at will via a simple mini-jack. Gooseneck type – like the professional headsets used in particular by telephone advisers – this microphone promises a sound quality far superior to that of the small transducers integrated into headphones and traditional wireless headsets. Another nice detail, the presence of a light indicator on each side to signal when the user is in conversation. Convenient to avoid being disturbed during a call by colleagues at the office or by family members when teleworking.
For the rest, the H8507 offers everything that is expected of a good current headset, with an active noise reduction system (ANR for Active Noise Reduction) which significantly reduces noise pollution by allowing better isolation, and an autonomy announced at 55 hours, much higher than that of wireless headphones. The H8507 is also delivered as standard with a Bluetooth USB key (a dongle) to be able to be used on computers without this interface. It will be marketed in September, at the list price of at a price of 230 euros. Philips traffic “high quality, rich and clear sound” : an assertion that only tests in situation will be able to validate, as always.
