A Jordanian girl poisoned her family with “cockroach exterminator”…and revealing her motives • Al Marsad Newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: The Court of Cassation in Jordan closed the curtain on the case of a girl poisoning her family, in an incident dating back to 2004.

According to the local “Ammon” website, the “discrimination” upheld the criminal court’s ruling of 10 years in prison with hard labor for the girl, after she killed her grandmother and poisoned her parents, brother and sister with an insecticide that she placed in a food pan.

The girl had admitted that in 2004 she put a “drug for cockroaches” in a cooking pot while her mother was preparing food in order to harm her brother.

The girl denied her intention to kill her brother, stressing that she only wanted to harm him, because of her disagreement with him, but the matter ended with the death of her grandmother and the injury of her parents, brother and sister with poisoning.

The court had sentenced her in absentia to death by hanging, but the sentence was later reduced to temporary work for a period of 10 years, after dropping the personal right.

The defendant was not satisfied with the verdict, so she appealed against it last June before the Court of Cassation, which in turn rejected the appeal and upheld the felonies’ sentence of imprisonment with hard labor.
